Insurance Requirements
Coverage, not age, is what qualifies a renter for a given vehicle.
What your policy must include
- Comprehensive and collision coverage that extends to rental vehicles.
- Physical damage limits at least equal to the insured value of the vehicle you book (shown on each vehicle page). A policy that covers a $65,000 vehicle does not qualify for a $200,000 one.
- Liability of at least $100,000 per person / $300,000 per accident bodily injury and $50,000 property damage. Lower limits are reviewed by the concierge.
- The policy must be active through your return date, and you must be a named insured (or listed driver) on it.
How verification works
Use Verify to Drive to enter your license and policy details and upload your license and insurance card. The pre-check tells you which vehicles your coverage clears; a concierge then confirms with your carrier before delivery. Verification is valid for 12 months.
Don't have qualifying coverage?
Many carriers will add a temporary physical-damage endorsement for a rental. Ask the concierge, and we can also point you to short-term policies that qualify. Credit-card rental coverage generally excludes exotic and high-value vehicles and is not accepted on its own.
Deductibles and claims
Your deductible is your responsibility. In the event of damage, the claim is filed with your carrier; the security deposit may be applied toward the deductible, loss of use and diminished value as set out in the rental agreement.
